INFORMATION
CONGRATULATIONS: Congratulations to Aimee Correa for her outstanding performance in "Young, Gifted & Black" at the Rose Theater. Aimee, along with her cast mates from around the Omaha metro area, researched and wrote her own part in the retrospective on black history in modern America. There are still two performances this weekend: April 29 at 7 p.m. and April 30 at 4:30 p.m. Tickets cost $6 at the box office. The Rose Theater is at 2001 Farnam St. Get out and see the show this weekend! Great work, Aimee!
JV BASEBALL HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR TODAY. JV BASEBALL PLAYERS, PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

RED OUT T-SHIRTS: If you ordered a Red t-shirt for the baseball game on May 1 - please stop by the Athletic Office and pick it up this week.

YEARBOOK ORDERS: If you want a yearbook, order it online or in room B10 before May 1st. The cost is $80. Order forms are available in the front office. You may also go online and place your order at www.yearbookforever.com .

KEY CLUB
Key Club will be meeting TODAY AFTER SCHOOL. We will announce the officers for the 2017/2018 school year. See you Friday after school!

SPRING SPORTS SENIORS:
WE WILL DO THE SENIOR PICTURE FOR SPRING SPORT ATHLETES ON WEDNESDAY MORNING, MAY 3rd AT 7:45 IN THE MAIN GYM. BE ON TIME, THEY WILL NOT WAIT.
LOCKER ROOMS: Students are not allowed in the PE locker rooms during class time unless approved by an Administrator, a Coach, and/or Security Personnel. Please do not go to a locker room to retrieve items such as books, homework, or backpacks during class.
QUIZ BOWL: will meet on Mondays after school and Thursdays before school in room E05! Please come when you can. See Ms. Cushing for details.

PLAY PRODUCTION CLASS AUDITIONS:
Are you interested in being a part of an elite group? The audition for the Play Production class.
Play Production class auditions will be held May 4th. Auditions are open to 2017-18 juniors and seniors, no theatre class prerequisite is required. See Mr. Nienhueser in room A11 for an Audition packet.

SUMMER DRIVERS EDUCATION:
Classroom sessions are June 12 thru June 23. Classes meet from either 8:00-10:00 or 10:00-12:00 p.m. You must choose one class time.
Students must be at least 15 and not more than 17 years of age and have a learner’s permit. Classes meet in the cafeteria.
Behind-the-wheel training will be scheduled sometime between June 13 and July 21. Students will schedule with the instructor.
Cost of the class: $350.00 . Checks made payable to PLSouth High School.
Registration forms are available in the guidance office and must be returned with payment to secure a spot in the class.

SUICIDE PREVENTION: The Kim Foundation's mission is to be a supportive resource and compassionate voice for lives touched by mental illness and suicide. In recognition of May being Mental Health Awareness Month, The Kim Foundation is sponsoring a contest about hope and healing. The foundation is inviting students to submit original works of art, creative writing, or videos that share personal stories and focus on the theme, "Hope and Healing through Creativity". Students can tell their stories of hope and healing by showing healthy ways of coping with stress/anxiety, sharing recovery stories, promoting positive mental health, and contributing ideas to prevent suicide.
Guidelines & Instructions
Eligibility: All middle and high school students (grades 6 - 12) in Douglas & Sarpy County.
Deadline: All submissions must be received by Friday, May 5, 2017.
Requirements: Students are invited to submit an original work of art, a creative writing, or a short video. Teachers, parents, and caregivers are not allowed to assist the student with his or her submission. If the judges find this rule to have been broken, they reserve the right to disqualify the student's submission. Each entry must include a Release & Waiver of Liability Form from The Kim Foundation that has been signed by the applicant's parent or legal guardian.

SUMMER MEDIA CAMP - UNO: July 17-21, Criss Library is holding a Summer Media Camp. The UNO Criss Library’s Summer Media Camp helps high school students explore their creative side. They get hands on experience with 3D printing, laser cutting, video, photography, virtual reality and more! It is perfect fit for beginners or students who want to advance their skills. Any student who is a non-senior this year is eligible to participate!
