BRIDGE OPPORTUNITY AT UNL
Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Nebraska are sponsoring HS juniors and seniors who express an interest in the geosciences and intend to attend UNL. This program is supported by the National Science Foundation to provide a “Bridge opportunity” for high school students to attract and retain new science students in the Geosciences in Nebraska.

Through this program we are able to provide a free 9-day field trip to provide a high-level of exposure to geoscience in the field! The group will spend time at UNL before and after the trip learning about careers in the Geosciences. This is one element of our recruitment and retention strategy to enhance the number of geoscientists in Nebraska.

HS students who are juniors or seniors at the present time, and express an interest in Geoscience as a major at UNL can apply. This opportunity will be available this summer and the next 2 years, so current freshman and sophomores will be able to apply over the next two years.

I’d be happy to address questions you, teachers, or parents may have about this program. Details regarding registration process and deadline to apply can be found at the site listed on the attached BRIDGE flyer.
