Social Studies Department
The Social Studies Department at Papillion-La Vista South offers a variety of opportunities to learn about the United States and the World with a variety of levels to meet the needs of all students. Six credits of social studies are required for graduation. Successful completion of United States History and United States Government are also required for graduation.
The courses offered are as follows:
9th Grade - United States and Honors United States History (after 1865)
10th Grade – World Civilizations, Honors World Civilization (Renaissance to present), and A.P. World
11th and 12th Grade - United States Government, Honors United States Government, A.P. United States Government and Politics, Sociology, Psychology, A.P Psychology, Geography and Contemporary Issues in the Modern World, A.P. Comparative Government, A.P. World History, A.P. United States History, A.P. Microeconomics and Macroeconomics
The Social Studies Department engages students in the learning process by incorporating the use of technology and discussion in the daily class activities. Students will be well prepared to understand their community, state, country and world by enrolling in social studies courses at Papillion-La Vista South High School.
